Photography mood board

What I like about these photographs, also what I would like to include in my own photography

‘Modern’ photographs, I feel like the photographs speak to me, and just by looking at the photographs I feel like I understand the backstory and what is going on behind the picture. Black and white tones, I love the monochrome because it makes the photo feel like it has more meaning behind it and makes it feel more like life than just photographs. Mixed media, I am a fan of mixed media because it is less intimidating and you have more creative freedom. It also makes you sit there and look at the art and think about the story and what is going on. Surreal photography is good because it comes from dreams, emotions, and unconscious ideas, which is good because it taps into people’s minds and feels like you can relate to the photo. Unusual-looking photography an interesting art form that uses optical illusions to manipulate depth and scale, creating unusual visual compositions that capture the imagination of viewers. Emotional feels

Art Research Blog

I will do some photography and a photo shoot of still life representing Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water. The artist I have discovered is Evelyn Bencicova.

These photographs are a part of a series called an-organic, Luxury, made in 2018.

These are my thumbnail sketches,

First, Mrs Clemence and I chose some items for my still-life photoshoot; once everything was set up the way I liked, I started to take photos. Some photos were taken with an orange-ish light, and the rest were taken with natural lighting. After the pictures had been taken, Mrs Clemence uploaded them, then printed the photographs out of a sheet, and I picked the ones I liked best out of all of them. Once the photos had been chosen, I moved onto a Mac to photoshop the pictures to how I wanted them. Next, I made a google drawing to the size of the folio board and laid the photos, changed the dimensions, how I wanted them and how I liked them.

Dorothée Loorbach – Ted Talk

In this talk, Dorothée Loorbach unmasks our relation to money and reveals her personal life-changing learnings from her six months project of becoming financially carefree again.

Two things I learned in this video is that you can train your brain to see negative situations as positive ones. There’s a benefit to celebrating our failures.

Russell Wilson Ted Talk

Ted Talk by Russell Wislon talks about the power of “neutral thinking,” which helps him thrive under pressure and shows how you can use this mindset to make the right moves in your own life. It talked about being positive or finding positivity in things that can be negative. I learned that it is okay to have emotions and that they don’t define who I am. He said ‘Shift to neutral’ by this I think this means having a clear view of your situation so you’ll be able to make the best choice.

Subversion in Art – Blog Post 1

“Art is either plagiarism or revolution”

What is subversion?

Subversion is the undermining of the power and authority of an established framework or institution.

From creator to curator. Subversive is more than shock value. Thought is more valuable than itself. Duchamp changed how we could make art and what we could make it out of. That his subversion was taking something and changing its use making art out of something that wasn’t intended to be art.

I did a thumbnail sketch of the Tracey Tawhiao art “a beautiful person”. You can’t really see the thumbnail sketch.

I could find the original piece that I did the thumbnail sketch.

Here is an artwork by R. Mutt. This artwork is called ‘the fountain’. It is a men’s urinal. I think it caused such a big issue in the art world because he didn’t make it, he took it and called it art. it’s presented in an art gallery with a title as an artwork, which makes it art.

Here is an artwork by Sarah Meyohas. The art is called ‘Bitchcoin’. Sarah Meyohas made this piece of art in 2015. I think the artwork is odd, and I am not sure if I’m a fan of it. I think that the title of the work was related to the image because her artwork is in the shape of a coin.

Honestly I don’t really know what I’m talking about

Lino

Frederick Walton invented lino (linoleum) in the mid-1800s. Lino is a versatile alternative to wood for printmakers. Lino is made of, linseed oil, natural rosin, wood flour, limestone, and jute ( which is the backing). Battleship grey lino is one of the main types of lino that artists carve and paint.

What can you see that is going well on this rubbing?

What I can see that is going well is the lines and stuff are drawn on good so it makes it easier for me to cut the lino

What needs some work? What are you going to do differently?

What needs work is me going more gently and careful are the “sharp” pointed parts of the lines because I realised I am just cutting the points off and making the lines smaller and smaller because it keeps happening. So what I will do differently is go more gently when I am cutting and take my time and not rush.

It has a lot of meaning but I don’t feel comfortable sharing it all. So to sum it up the hand is my handprint, and as you can see the fingers looks like human figures, and it is. They represent my family. along with my visual text meaning family, it also ties into mental health, and tough time my family and I have been through.
